In the name of God Amen. I John Pullen Sen’r of the County of Wake & State of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound mind and memory & calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life doth this (space left blank) in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Eight hundred and Eight, make and ordain this my last will and Testament and first of all I recommend my soul to almighty God who gave it me in certain hopes of a glorious resurrection through the merits of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ & my body to the Dust from whence it came to be buried in a decent like Christian manner and as to what worldly Goods it hath been please God to bestow on me I despose of them as follows:

(Viz) First of all it is my Will and desire that my Just debts be paid? -

ITEM. I do lend to my loving Wife Anne Pullen all my Plantation and Lands belonging to me not otherwise disposed of & also lend my said Wife Seven Negroes by name Ben, Dick, Kinchen, Cate, Temperance, Eaton and Ellick. I also lend my said wife two thirds of all my stock of Horses, Cattle Hogs and sheep together with all my Crop of all Descriptions & all plantations Utensils & house hold and Kitchen Furniture during her natural life or Widowhood; Nevertheless it is my Will that my son Turner Pullen should have the liberty of working any part of the s’d land where it will not Interrupt his mother.

ITEM. I do give to my Son Thomas Pullen at the death of my Wife one Negroe Man by name Kinchen to him and his heirs forever?-

ITEM. I do give to my son George Pullen One Negroe Boy by name Eaton to him and his heirs forever?-

ITEM. I do give to my son Turner Pullin One negroe Girl by name Temperance and one Cow & Calf to him & his heirs forever?-

ITEM. I do give to my son John Pullin Seventy five pounds at my death?-

ITEM. I do give to my son William Pullin Fifteen Pounds at my death?_

ITEM. I do Give to my Daughter, Phebe Allen Ten Pounds at my death?-

ITEM. I do give to my Daughter Sally Rush Ten Pounds at my death.

ITEM. I do lend to my said wife one other negroe woman by name Nan during her natural life or Widowhood & at her death or Marriage it is my will that the s’d Negroe Chose her master or Mistress of my Children.

Signed Seald Published & delivered by the said John Pullin the Testator as his last Will & Testament In the presents of us, who were present at the time of Signing and Sealing Thereof.

VIZ I do nomim and appoint my Son Thomas Pullen Turner Pullin & Allen W. Davis my true & lawful Executors to this my last Will & Testament

Given under my hand and seal this Twenty Fifth day of June One Thousand

Then the within Will was duly proven in open Court by the Oaths of John Barham, Thomas Garriott and Ellis Garrott subscribing Witnesses to the same and ordered to be recorded.
